Are You Liberal or Conservative

For all of the people out there who are my fans and just don't know I exist yet, this is for you.

Up until a few years ago, I fancied myself an Independent. I liked some Conservative talking points like fiscal responsibility and I liked some Liberal talking points like feed the poor. Now, I would say I'm a meh-pendant.

Can you believe that most people like both of those points, yet nobody wants to talk about what we have in common. They want to talk mad shit about the other political "team."

Knowing what other people have in common with you is a good way to make friends. Yet, everyone insists on arguing over things we don't agree on.

I propose we make a list of things that the majority of Americans agree on and then focus our policies on those things. That's the best way to move forward in a constructive way.

Complex problems, of course, are still going to rear their ugly heads, but finding our baseline similarities first would be a good starting point.

Every time I bring this up to friends of both parties, I always get a, "Yeah, but they suck." Just know this; all people suck. That's not a good argument. We agree on more issues than we disagree on.
